Whether you're running a neighbourhood house, op shop, sporting club, or community garden, Whump adapts to how your volunteers actually work.
Free for organisations with up to 30 active volunteers. No credit card required.
No two community organisations are the same. Whump is flexible enough to fit all of them.
Features that match how community organisations are actually structured — multiple programs, mixed volunteer types, and real compliance obligations.
Assign different admins to different program areas. Your op shop coordinator manages retail shifts; your community garden coordinator manages garden days. Neither sees the other's roster unless you want them to.
Store contact details, emergency contacts, qualifications, shift history, and compliance documents for every volunteer. When a volunteer leaves and rejoins years later, their history is preserved and fully restored on reactivation.
All volunteer personal data is stored encrypted on Australian servers in Brisbane. Sensitive fields — address, date of birth, emergency contacts — are encrypted using AES-256. Fully compliant with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (as amended 2024).
Generate hours reports by volunteer, by shift category, or across the whole organisation. Export as CSV for grant applications, council funding acquittals, and annual reports — in seconds.
Track Working With Children checks, first aid certificates, food safety certificates, police checks, and any other document type. Automatic alerts go out 90 and 30 days before anything expires.
Volunteers can request shift swaps directly through Whump. Admins approve or reject swaps and the roster updates automatically — no more chasing swap arrangements through group chats.
Whump handles both volunteers and paid staff in the same system. Set up employment records, timesheets, leave management, and payroll exports to Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, and more — all from the same platform you use to roster your volunteers.
Trusted by community organisations across Australia

Yes. Whump generates hours reports filtered by volunteer, by shift category, or across the whole organisation for any date range. You can export these as a CSV for use in grant applications, annual reports, or funding acquittals.
Volunteer records — including shift history, compliance documents, and profile details — are preserved when a volunteer is deactivated. If they rejoin years later, you can reactivate their profile and their full history is restored. Nothing is permanently deleted unless explicitly requested.
Yes. Whump supports irregular and seasonal scheduling. You can create one-off shifts, date-range based schedules, or recurring schedules that you pause between seasons. Volunteers can be deactivated during the off-season and reactivated when your programs resume — they don't count toward your limit while inactive.
