Common Questions

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The Seed plan is completely free for organisations with up to 30 active volunteers. It includes shift scheduling, email notifications, compliance document tracking, and two-factor authentication — with no credit card required.

Do I need a credit card to sign up?

No. You can create an account and use the free Seed plan without providing any payment details. A credit card is only required when upgrading to a paid plan.

Can I switch plans?

Yes. Upgrade or downgrade at any time from your Billing settings. Upgrades take effect immediately (prorated by Stripe). Downgrades take effect at the end of your billing period. If you downgrade below your current volunteer count, the most recently added volunteers will be automatically deactivated.

What are SMS credits?

SMS credits are purchased separately for $16 (200 credits) or $40 (500 credits) and never expire — they roll over each month. Each paid plan includes a monthly SMS quota; credits kick in when the monthly quota is exhausted.

What counts as an "active volunteer"?

Any volunteer whose account is enabled and able to log in. Deactivated or archived volunteers do not count toward your limit.

What happens if I exceed my volunteer limit?

You will not be able to add new volunteers until you upgrade your plan or deactivate existing ones. Existing volunteers and all their data remain unaffected.

Is our organisation's data stored in Australia?

Yes. Whump servers are physically located in Brisbane, Queensland. Your data never leaves Australia. All personal information is encrypted using AES-256 and handled in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988.

Can Whump handle multiple chapters or teams?

Yes. Each organisation gets its own isolated workspace. Volunteers on the platform can be members of multiple organisations simultaneously, and admins can manage each workspace independently.

How do shift reminders and notifications work?

Whump can send volunteers automated email and SMS reminders before their scheduled shifts. Paid plans include platform-delivered SMS (Whump SMS). Any plan also supports connecting your own SMS provider (BYO carrier).

What currency are the prices?

All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are GST inclusive. We use Stripe as our payment processor.

Which accounting and payroll systems does Whump integrate with?

Whump integrates with Xero, MYOB AccountRight / MYOB Business, QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, Sage Business Cloud, Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT, Zoho Books, and easyVerein. Once connected, approved timesheet hours push directly to your accounting system — no manual re-entry. Accounting integrations are included on all paid plans (Sprout and above) — no add-on required.

What does the staff management and payroll feature include?

All paid plans include staff management: timesheet capture, approval workflows, cost centre allocation, and payroll export reports. You can export a payroll CSV with ATO Single Touch Payroll Phase 2 (STP2) income type codes, or push approved hours directly to a connected accounting system such as Zoho Books or Sage.
